On June 22 this year, Apple had its online-only WWDC 2020. WWDC means "Worldwide Developers Conference" and this is where Apple talks more about their software (new things of course) and at times some hardware stuff.
This year's conference started with the introduction of their new iOS, iOS 14 and it is coming with some new features and some fresh new looks. Some of these features are already in existence in other mobile operating systems and others are new stuff. But it is a nice move by Apple.
Some of these new features include:
- An app drawer
- Digital car key
- Picture in picture mode
- Pinned conversations, group photos, mentions, new memojis in the messages app
- Translate app that provides text and voice translations to and from 11 languages
- Airpods can seamlessly and automatically switch between Apple devices with automatic device switching.
The iOS 14 has support on all devices after the iPhone 6. ie. iPhone 6s upwards to the current iPhone.
